Actor Saif Ali Khan recently met Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto driver who rushed him to Lilavati Hospital after he was stabbed during a burglary at his Bandra home. The actor, who was discharged from the hospital, thanked Bhajan for his quick actions. An NDTV report reveals that Saif and Bhajan shared a heartfelt moment at the hospital, with photos circulating on social media showing them smiling together—one with Saif’s arm around Bhajan and another of them standing side by side. Bhajan also met Saif’s family, including his mother, Sharmila Tagore, and was thanked for his timely help.

The crime took place on the wee hours of January 16, when Saif was assaulted in an attempted robbery at his house by Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi illegal immigrant. It is suspected that the assailant stabbed Saif several times in the back after he got into an argument with a staff member. Shehzad had entered through the same window of the bathroom and then left from there; the police say he was only caught after three days.

Bhajan, who was working late that night, narrated the events to ANI. He said that around 2:30-3:00 am, he saw a woman trying to hail an auto and then calls from inside a gate. When he stopped his vehicle, a man covered in blood came out along with a few others. Bhajan immediately drove Saif to Lilavati Hospital, unaware at that time that it was the Bollywood actor. Later, he learned Saif had been the victim, bleeding from his neck and back.
