Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, along with his Cabinet Ministers, took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam in Teerthraj Prayagraj and prayed for the welfare of the entire world.

Describing the Sangam bath as a symbol of Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma, the CM said that this bath gives the message of spiritual peace, religious dedication and social welfare.

"Bathing in Triveni Sangam is not just a call for personal purification, but overall public welfare. In this divine event of Maha Kumbh, crores of devotees are coming from all over the world and taking a holy dip in the Sangam. This bath gives the message of religion, culture and faith," he said.

Yogi said, "It is not only a religious ritual, but also a sacred call for public welfare and self-purification. Maha Kumbh is a symbol of the divinity and universality of Indian culture. The Sangam bath gives the message to the people that purity and prosperity can be brought in life with the power of religion and culture."

It may be noted that Triveni Sangam is the holy place where Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati meet. It is considered the centre of attainment of salvation and purification of the soul. In the scriptures, bathing in the Sangam has been described as a way to free one from all sins and spiritual advancement.

In this sequence, Yogi and all the members of his cabinet first performed puja-archana at the Triveni complex in Arail. Thereafter, he reached Sangam in a motorboat and completed the bath with proper chanting of mantras and havan.

Along with him, both Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Dharampal and Anil Rajbhar, including all 21 ministers and the rest of the independent charge and state ministers duly took bath and worshipped at Sangam.

'Yatra Ganga cha Yamuna, Saraswati cha Punyada, Snaanen tatra tirthe, mokshah syat sukhamatmanah' (That is, where Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet, bathing there gives salvation and peace to the soul). The entire cabinet gave a message to the whole world by bathing in Triveni Sangam with this spiritual experience.

It not only became a symbol of faith and belief, but also came as an opportunity to provide spiritual energy and inspiration to the people. This event establishes the values of Sanatan Dharma and gives the message of peace, prosperity and dedication in the society.

Through this event, the message of not only following the religious tradition, but also public welfare and world peace was given.

This is the second occasion in the Yogi government, when the entire cabinet has taken a bath in Sangam together on the auspicious occasion of Maha Kumbh Mela. Earlier in 2019, in the Kumbh Mela held at Prayagraj, the CM took a dip of faith in the Sangam along with his entire cabinet.

Then along with the Chief Minister and the entire cabinet, Akhara Parishad President Narendra Giri and other saints also took a holy bath in the Sangam stream.

Earlier, the Yogi government also organised a cabinet meeting in the Maha Kumbh. All 54 ministers of the UP government were called in the meeting. This meeting was held at the Triveni Complex in Arail.

It was decided to hold a meeting in Arail so that the devotees coming to bath in the Sangam do not face any inconvenience. Earlier this meeting was to be held in the auditorium of the Mela Authority, but keeping all aspects in mind, the venue of the meeting was later changed, because if the meeting of ministers would have been held in the auditorium of the Mela Authority, then the devotees could have faced problems due to VIP security.
