When they play Jamshedpur FC here on Thursday, bottom-place Hyderabad FC will try to remain alive in the Indian Super League after their campaign went wild with their last victory being back in November 2024.
Against the fourth-place Red Miners, who have 28 points from 15 games, the hosts, who now have 10 points from 16 games, will badly need to snap a four-match losing run.
Hyderabad has lost all nine of their games since their most recent victory, which came against Kerala Blasters (2-1) at Kochi on November 7, 2024. In October 2024, Jamshedpur FC won the rematch 2-1. This Thursday’s victory would be their second league double against Hyderabad FC, having already done it in the 2023–24 season.
After defeating Mumbai City FC 3-0 on the road, the Red Miners will try to duplicate their previous defensive strength. At home, they then drew 1-1 with the Mohun Bagan Super Giants. At the moment, Jamshedpur is in a strong position inside the competition.
In the 11 ISL games between the two clubs, Jamshedpur FC has won six of them. Hyderabad FC has won one game, while four others have ended in draws.
Shameel Chembakath, the temporary head coach of Hyderabad FC, urged his team to play more clinically in their attacking third. “In the latter third, we must use more clinical judgment. At home, we must win three points. We are certain that the match will be intense since Jamshedpur FC is extremely powerful,” he remarked.
Khalid Jamil, the head coach of Jamshedpur FC, encouraged his team to play well away from home. “We are just as prepared as we have been for this game. We must do well on the road. Tomorrow’s game is somewhat of a must-win for us,” he said.
