Marvel star Awkwafina broke down in tears over a family discovery in a first-look video for an emotional National Geographic series.

No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski is set to premiere on Disney+ on February 24, and follows the Queer Eye star as he guides celebrity guests on epic journeys to explore their ancestral roots.

Along the way, they meet local travellers who share their family stories and culinary traditions, resulting in a feast for the eyes.

"From dining with royalty to off-roading 4x4s, each culinary adventure is filled with heartwarming moments, vibrant flavours, and surprising revelations that dive deep into the stories behind each guest's ancestry," teases the show's official synopsis.

In a trailer that was released by National Geographic on Wednesday (January 22), Antoni heads on a captivating culinary adventure across the globe.

"This is crazy," Awkwafina said as she embarked on a train with the host. Later in the clip, the actor learnt about her distant relatives from a black and white photo.

"Everyone you see here is a relative of yours," a guide told her, before a tearful Awkwafina admitted that it was "so cool".

The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star is eager to reconnect with her South Korean heritage after losing her mother at a young age.

Antoni therefore curates a voyage of discovery filled with new experiences, family revelations and exotic flavours, which combine to give Awkwafina a fresh perspective of her identity.

As well as Awkwafina, the show's star-studded line-up also includes Florence Pugh, Henry Golding, James Marsden, Issa Rae and Justin Theroux.

"It's a beautiful adventure to discover our past through the great connector that is food," Antoni said in a statement.

"I'm honoured to go on this journey of self-discovery with new and old friends alongside National Geographic as we learn together about the ways different cultures celebrate food and experience their traditions."
