Fans of This Morning were left squirming on their sofas and many declared they were "switching off" as the show presented a rather intimate segment featuring a live vaginal examination.
Watching in discomfort, viewers saw Karina, with her legs in stirrups, partake in the segment broadcast live.
Evidently moved by the moment, presenter praised Karina's courage: "What you are doing is really brave," although Karina rebuffed this, indicating that her main aim was to inspire others who may be enduring similar experiences.
Karina's participation was intended to reassure women who might be dealing with endometriosis by illustrating that such examinations are quick and painless.
With Dr Zoe Williams by her side, Cat Deeley introduced the segment while co-presenter conspicuously disappeared from the set leaving the nation to observe the live procedure, reports .
During the show, Dr Zoe and Cat were keen to delve into details about the anti-aging treatment and Karina's medical condition, previously mentioned as an autoimmune disease on the programme.
Dr Zoe, intrigued by the particulars of the condition, said to the gynaecologist: "What I was interested in knowing is because of the needles, Karina's condition is actually a vulva condition that affects the skin on the external? " To which, the specialist responded by explaining the dual application of the probe, starting with the internal treatment first.
The gynaecologist on the show revealed that the procedure was "not cheap" and is currently "not available on the ", with the treatment potentially costing patients a hefty £180.
Karina expressed to Cat her desire to "normalise women's health" issues, but many viewers were left puzzled as to why it was necessary to broadcast the vaginal check live.
One baffled viewer took to social media to question: "Just turned on #ThisMorning - WHAT am I watching? " Another disgruntled viewer wrote: "Sixty-minute switch-off #ThisMorning."
Echoing the same sentiment, a third person posted: "Wtaf is this? Switching off #ThisMorning, as a fourth user stated: " while a fourth user declared: "This is dire dear lord."
Yet another viewer vented: "£180, there's no way I would pay out for that, #thismorning."
This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays at 10am and on ITVX
