Vijayendra Kumeria: The character of Suraj in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah appealed to me
Vijayendra Kumeria , whose show Deewaniyat is set to conclude soon, has already secured his next big project. The actor has been cast as the male lead in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, which is about to take a 12-year time leap. Deewaniyat is scheduled to wrap up on January 29, with Vijayendra still completing his final few days of shooting. He shares, “There’s a little bit of work left to do. I’ll manage and finish it before moving on.”
Following the conclusion of Deewaniyat, Vijayendra will be seen in a brand-new role as Suraj in Jagriti. He says, “Yes, I’m joining the cast of Jagriti, and I’m quite excited about playing Suraj. After signing the contract, I watched a few episodes of the show to understand its storyline, and I really liked it. I believe the show has great potential to grow and connect with audiences after the leap. Along with the storyline, it was the character itself that appealed to me. Suraj is multi-faceted, and it will be fun to bring him to life. That’s why, when the offer came, I jumped at it.”
Elaborating on his character, the actor, who has been part of shows such as Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Shastri Sisters, Udann , Sufiyana Pyaar Mera, Naagin 4, Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye, and Teri Meri Doriyaann, shares, “Suraj is a bit of a complex personality. He craves his father’s approval and struggles with his own insecurities. On the surface, he’s brash and entitled, using his father’s political power to his advantage. But underneath, there’s a vulnerable side — a young man desperate to earn his father’s respect. His mix of arrogance and vulnerability makes him fascinating to portray. Suraj’s journey of self-discovery and his evolving relationship with Jagriti will be central to the narrative.”
