New Delhi: Isudan Gadhvi, the leader of the Gujarat Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been campaigning in Delhi in front of the next assembly elections. He has lauded Arvind Kejriwal, the party’s national convener, claiming that he is the only politician who keeps his promises.
He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for announcing that it will offer Rs 2,500 in financial help to women, claiming that the BJP had never done so in Gujarat, where it has held power for 30 years.
“The leader who keeps his word is Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP never keeps its promises. The idea of providing women Rs 2,500 is being discussed. In Gujarat, they didn’t provide it for thirty years. The BJP does not provide funding. It’s all jumla, as Amit Shah said, “Gadhvi told the media report.
Citing the amount of votes the AAP earned in the past Gujarati elections, he said that Kejriwal was in the hearts of both Delhi residents and Gujaratis.
Delhi residents have a special place in their hearts for Arvind Kejriwal. You may have noticed that Gujaratis now also have a soft spot for Arvind. We received 41 lakh votes in the last election. There are Gujaratis present in Madipur. He has contributed significantly to Delhi’s populace,” Gadhvi said.
The political parties have stepped up their campaigning as the Delhi assembly poll election date draws closer, with party leaders supporting their candidates at public rallies. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was also in Delhi yesterday to support BJP candidates.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh, meanwhile, attacked the BJP, claiming that the party would be “wiped out” in the next Delhi assembly polls regardless of how hard Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi try.
“No matter how hard UP CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Modi try or they could even call US President Donald Trump to campaign, the BJP will be wiped out in the Delhi elections,” Singh said to the media report.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh questioned the Election Commission’s capacity to guarantee free and fair elections, posing the question, “How can it guarantee free and fair elections nationwide if it can’t stop BJP candidates from distributing goods in the New Delhi assembly constituency?”
Kejriwal had earlier retaliated against Adityanath for criticizing the Delhi administration for the state of law and order, claiming that the Union Home Ministry is responsible for maintaining law and order in the nation’s capital and should advise Home Minister Amit Shah on how to improve it.
