Child PAN Card: PAN (Permanent Account Number) is very important for high-value financial transactions and important banking transactions. PAN number is an important identification card issued by the Income Tax Department of India. 

As you all know, PAN cards can be applied for by people above 18 years of age. However, according to the information available on the NSDL website, PAN cards can be applied for not only in the name of adults but also in the name of children (those below 18 years of age). This is called 'Minor PAN Card'. 

 

 

 

Benefits of getting a minor PAN card:  Getting
a PAN card in the name of a minor is an important financial tool. This minor PAN card helps parents to manage their children's financial affairs effectively. Not only that, it is also valid for managing their financial activities in the future. 

 

 

As per the available information, for minors (below 18 years of age) the parents/legal guardians apply for PAN card. Although additional documents are required for this, the process of getting PAN card is the same. 

 

 

Documents required to get a PAN card for a minor: 
Proof of age: 

Birth certificate, Aadhar card, passport or school mark sheet can be provided for this. 

Address Proof: 
Passport, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, Utility Bill of the parents/legal guardian of the minor can be provided. 

 

Step-by-step process to apply for a PAN card in the name of a child: 
Minors can apply for a PAN card in both online and offline modes. 

Step-by-step procedure to apply for a minor PAN card online: 
Step-1: First visit the NSDL website and go to the NSDL PAN Services section 
. Step-2: Select New Pan-Indian Citizen (Form 49A) and select the Personal option.
Step-3: Fill in the minor's name, contact details of the parents in the space provided, then click on Submit. 
Step-4: Select the option to upload the required documents, select the option that requires a physical PAN card. 
Step-5: Fill in the details of the minor's parents and upload the documents. 
Step-6: Pay the application fee through online payment. Then you will receive an identification number. 

Follow the steps below for offline application process for minor PAN card: 
First download Form 49A from NSDL website. Fill all the required details correctly. Attach the document with identity proof, address proof, birth proof and two passport size photographs. Submit it at the nearest PAN center (TIN Facilitation Center) and pay the application fee.
