A man in London committed a serious crime, he stabbed not one but three school girls to death. The person who committed the crime is a minor. At the time when the man killed the three girls, he was 17 years old. After this, the court took action on this matter and gave a strict punishment to the accused. The court has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. Also, he can apply for parole only after serving a minimum sentence of 52 years.
The man murdered three schoolgirls in July last year. He committed this heinous crime at a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop in Southport, North-West England. The accused has accepted his charge in the court on 23 January.
The accused, named Axel Rudakubana, was 17 years old when he committed the crime. The accused also admitted to trying to kill yoga instructor Leanne Lucas and businessman John Hayes at Heart Space in Southport, as well as eight other children aged between 7 and 13.
The case was heard at Liverpool Crown Court. Judge Julian Goose said that if Rudakubana was 18 years old at the time of the attack, he would have received a life sentence - which would mean no possibility of release. However, as per the current sentence, Rudakubana can apply for parole after serving 52 years of sentence. The judge said, he will spend almost his entire life in custody, I believe it is likely that he will never be released and he will remain in custody for the rest of his life.
The judge added: "He wanted to kill happy, innocent schoolgirls. In about 15 minutes he killed three of them and tried to kill eight more. It was a great violence and it is difficult to understand why he did it. I am sure Rudakubana had the intention to kill and he would have killed all the 26 children present."
On July 29 last year, Rudakubana entered the workshop and spread terror. He killed three young girls in the dance studio. Alice da Silva Aguiar who was 9 years old, Bebe King who was 6 years old and Elsie Dot Stancombe who was 7 years old. Rudakubana killed these girls.
The accused Rudakubana is from the Welsh capital Cardiff and has a long history of crime. He had earlier admitted to possession of biological toxins and terrorist documents, and also admitted to having a PDF file. Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said, "This is a young man who has a passion for violence. His goal is to kill young people and spread terror."
