The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced on January 23, 2025, by Hollywood’s favourite duo- Rachel Sonnet and Bowen Yang from Samuel Goldwyn Theater in a live stream. The duo announced the 24 categories in total which included artists from around the world. Emilia Perez has stunned everyone with 13 nominations at the Oscars and became one of the most-nominated non-English films in history. The Brutalist and Wicked both secured 10 nominations. From India- Anuja stands proud as the best live-action short film. It was directed by Adam J. Graves and produced by Guneet Monga and Priyanka Chopra.
