Ram Gopal Varmas iconic film Satya was re-released in theaters recently. Originally released 27 years ago the movie starring Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpayee made waves in Bollywood. It played a significant role in boosting the careers of Ram Gopal Varma Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpayee. Ram Gopal Varma known for hits like Rangeela and Satya has directed many films during his 32-year career. However most of them (around 21 films) didn’t do well at the box office and were either flops or disasters. On the occasion of Satya’s re-release RGV shared an emotional post where he revealed that he watched the film after 27 years and it made him realize he had lost his way as a filmmaker. He admitted that his recent movies lacked the honesty and truth of Satya which may be why they failed. Now the filmmaker has announced his next project a movie called Syndicate. He describes it as his most terrifying film yet. Unlike horror movies featuring ghosts or supernatural elements Syndicate will show the dark and terrifying side of humanity. The Mumbai court has held Rams firm guilty in a cheque-bouncing case filed by a company in Vile Parle which had provided hard disks to the former. The court has sentenced the filmmaker the proprietor of the firm to three months imprisonment and has asked him to pay a compensation of Rs 372219 to the complainant.
