In today's time, quick commerce platforms are in vogue. Today, people resort to online platforms to buy even the smallest food items. However, now customers will not be able to order small 10-20 rupees worth of products like biscuits, and coffee from these platforms. This will not happen immediately but preparations have started for this.

In fact, many companies manufacturing daily use goods (FMCG) have decided that they will no longer supply small and affordable packs on these quick commerce platforms. Due to this, people may face problems to some extent. According to the companies, this pack will be available only at grocery stores.

Companies are making new packs.

According to the information, Parle has launched separate packs of biscuits like Parle-G, Hide and Seek, and Crack Jack for quick commerce companies, whose price is between 50-100 rupees. Now packs of Parle biscuits priced up to Rs 30 will be available only at grocery stores.

Apart from this, retail chains like Reliance and DMart will sell biscuit packs priced between Rs 120 and Rs 150. Along with this, ITC has launched several different packs of Engage perfume, Savlon handwash, and Mangaldeep incense sticks for quick commerce. At the same time, Adani Wilmar Company is also preparing to launch new packs of cooking oil for quick commerce.

Why was such a decision taken?

It is believed that the dominance of online e-commerce and quick commerce platforms is increasing in the country. Due to this, grocery shopkeepers are incurring huge losses. Grocery store owners were raising their voices against this. Given this protest, FMCG companies have prepared to take this decision. Now these companies are doing special packaging for quick commerce. The donations of such packages will be more than the packs available at grocery stores.

At present, the sale of small packs on quick commerce platforms is increasing very fast. However, the companies had made these packs not for these platforms but only for shopkeepers. Now these packs are not being sold from grocery stores, due to which the companies have taken this decision. To avoid clashes with grocery stores, it has been decided to start separate packaging for Quick Commerce.

Special focus of companies on villages

It is being seen that the income of FNCG companies has decreased due to the decrease in urban demand. On the contrary, the demand has increased in the rural areas of the country. This is the reason why these companies are developing product categories of different prices for villages and cities. Recently, many companies have also launched small packs of less quantity of premium products with large packs.

It is worth noting that the All India Consumer Product Distributors Federation has welcomed this new initiative. However, the Federation says that this initiative of FMCG companies is meaningful only when they create two categories of the same product. If a product is sold by increasing its price and then giving a discount on it, then the customers will suffer.
