If you're on the lookout for a pair of trousers that are as stylish as they are comfortable, then let me tell you about my new wardrobe go-to that shoppers have been buying in every colour. The have been lauded by fashion fans in recent weeks, and after trying them out for myself, it’s easy to see why.

I first spotted these cotton-rich denim trousers in store on mannequin, drawn to their warm poppy red hue which feels perfect for the upcoming spring season. But the thing that sold it for me was their adjustable stretchy waistband - which as someone who suffers with bloating, was a total game changer.

Made from 70% cotton, the trousers are the ultimate smart-casual wardrobe staple. They’re thinner than traditional jeans, making them lighter and less ‘stiff’. But they maintain a smartness about them, allowing them to transition effortlessly from the office to weekend plans.

I initially tried on my usual size 10, but found them to be a little tight fitting across the back, so I did size up for a more casual, slouchy vibe which is more in keeping with my personal style. I tend to live in cargo jeans, but thought these red trousers would be a fab alternative - especially since I love to dress colourfully.

They're designed in a with two side pockets for your essentials, plus two additional pockets at the back. Priced at £27.50, they’re surprisingly affordable, coming in four colours, including black, light beige and indigo if poppy is a little bold for you.

As I mentioned previously, the main sell for me was their high waistband and drawstring fastening. This makes them an or fluctuating weight, or simply want something that offers all-day comfort without feeling too tight.

It’s one of the main reasons shoppers love them, too, with one five star review commenting: “I love jeans but I’m also someone who bloats. And these are the best of both worlds. Long, wide legged and not trying to cut me in half. Granted these are your causal denim trousers but they’re so multi functional I love them. I would say if your apple shaped they do grab in the tummy a little more than I’d like!”

The trousers come in petite, regular and tall so you can get a really personalised fit. I did choose the long length, as the regular was unavailable in-store. Thankfully, they weren’t too long for my height, though I must admit, the regular would have been my preferred size.

I’ve found them super easy to style, gravitating towards them more than jeans or skirts. The red, in particular, goes really well with leopard print, which is really prominent in my wardrobe. They’re versatile enough to wear with both casual tees and oversized jumpers, but work just as well with a blazer or blouse for a more polished look.

On the website, the , with one shopper having bought three pairs. They wrote: “Nice casual jeans good fit this is my 3rd pair ready for summer.”

Another wrote: “Material was comfortable and very everyday. They are wide drawstring trousers and I was worried that they would swamp me but they don’t. Are a nice length and go well with big baggy jumpers. Perfect for dog walking.”

While most find the trousers true to size, a few have mentioned that the lengths can vary slightly. One shopper commented: “I like the style and fabric but the sizing! I am 5’6” and ordered 2 pairs in different colours but had to return as far too long to wear with trainers. I reordered in short, the tan fit perfectly but will be returning the denim as about 4 cm shorter than the tan pair.”

Though a fourth penned: “I purchased the poppy colour and they are a lovely shade of red. Nice change to straight leg jeans.”

Elsewhere, . They’re a little more casual, but thanks to their light and breathable fabric, would be a dream to style in the summer months. But if you’re looking for something smarter, these and are very much business at the front, comfort at the back with the elastic waist just at the back of the trouser.

But for me, it’s the you’ll find me living in for the foreseeable. Whether you're dealing with bloating, on the hunt for stylish yet practical trousers, or simply looking for something that pairs well with various outfits, these trousers do it all. And at £27.50, I might just get them in every colour.
