Two ladies in Deoria, Kavita and Gunja (also called Bablu), made the audacious and surprising decision to wed each other after leaving violent marriages. The Shiva Temple, also called Choti Kashi, hosted the event on Thursday night.

The two met on Instagram and were drawn to one another because they had both experienced domestic abuse at the hands of their drunken spouses. Their desire to leave their previous lives and begin over, free from the abuse that had plagued them for years, drove them to get married.

Gunja played the part of the groom in the temple. In order to symbolize their dedication to one another, she applied sindoor (vermillion) on Kavita, traded garlands with her, and performed the customary seven pheras with her.

“We were tormented by our husbands’ drinking and abusive behavior,” Gunja told the reporters while describing their choice. This encouraged us to pursue a peaceful, loving life. As a couple, we have made the decision to live in Gorakhpur and work to support ourselves.

In order to start their new life together, the couple now intends to rent a room in Gorakhpur. They are resolved to put the hardships of their past marriages behind them and create a tranquil future.

Uma Shankar Pandey, the temple priest, said that the ladies conducted their ceremony in silence, buying sindoor and garlands beforehand. They then walked out of the temple without attracting any notice.

The courage it required for Kavita and Gunja to face their pasts and take charge of their futures is shown by their choice to be married. Others in comparable circumstances might find hope in their tale of love and resiliency.
