To celebrate 50 years of Sholay, a special postal cover was released on Friday. The stamp was unveiled by director Ramesh Sippy at an event organised in Mumbai by the Maharashtra Postal Circle.
Speaking at the event, Ramesh Sippy said, “Everyone associated with Sholay worked really hard on the film, and that’s why we are all here today. 50 saal baad Sholay pe stamp ka thappa bhi lag gaya.”
At a special ceremony, the Maharashtra Postal Circle released a Special Cover to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the iconic 1975 film "Sholay" in the presence of the director Ramesh Sippy, producer Shehzad Sippy and FHF Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and a packed house of philatelists at the World Trade Centre in Mumbai.
Film Heritage Foundation is working on the restoration of "Sholay" that will be complete 50 years this year. Shivendra Singh Dungarpur was invited to deliver a lecture on "Film Heritage and Restoration" on the occasion.
