PTC Web Desk: Just five days ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, seven sitting MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have resigned from the party. The legislators who have stepped down represent constituencies including Mehrauli, Trilokpuri, Janakpuri, Bijwasan, Palam, Adarsh Nagar, and Kasturba Nagar.

Two-time Mehrauli MLA Naresh Yadav resigned from AAP on Friday, citing rampant corruption within the party as the reason for his departure. He announced his resignation through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he also explained his decision. "AAP Has Become Engulfed in Corruption"

Naresh Yadav alleged that AAP emerged from the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare with the objective of eradicating corruption from Indian politics. However, he expressed disappointment that the party had allegedly failed in its mission and had instead become deeply entrenched in corruption itself.

“I joined AAP to practice honest politics, but today, honesty is nowhere to be seen in the party. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with complete integrity for the people of Mehrauli. They know that I have always focused on ethical politics, good conduct, and development-oriented work,” Yadav wrote.

List of resigning MLAs

Bhawna Gaur – MLA, Palam

Rajesh Rishi – MLA, Janakpuri

Rohit Mehraulia – MLA, Trilokpuri

Madan Lal – MLA, Kasturba Nagar
