Think you've mastered the art of making ?

A chef, Paul Foster, has a 'game-changing' tip that might make you rethink your recipe.

In a video he shared on social media, Foster said adding milk to your bolognese sauce will give it a luscious, creamy texture without the need for cream.

He shared his best bolognese recipe on TikTok saying that this is "how to cook bolognese properly".

Paul Foster, chef at the renowned Salt in Stratford Upon Avon, said in a video: "Are you adding milk to your bolognese?

"If not, why not? If you want the best results based on authenticity, then follow my method."

"This gives it that creaminess without adding cream - honestly, this is a game changer."

His recipe starts with a sofrito of finely diced onions, celery, and peeled carrot, cooked with chopped thyme and grated garlic in olive oil.

The first step is to cook the onions, celery and peeled carrot for three to four minutes.

Next, he adds garlic and thyme, cooking them for two minutes before removing them from the pan to cool.

Using the same pan, he adds more olive oil along with minced pork and beef, cooking over high heat while breaking up the meat and removing moisture.

He then adds red wine to reduce, followed by tomato puree and the pre-cooked sofrito before putting in the tinned tomatoes.

After reducing the mixture for three hours, the final touch is stirring in milk to achieve a thick and glossy sauce, which is then served with al dente pasta.

He added: "This recipe is based on my culinary knowledge, my nostalgia and also my experiences with some of the original recipes in Bologna."

The chef said that good quality ingredients make all the difference when making your bolognese sauce.
