An EastEnders star seemingly revealed he was the famous face beneath The Masked Singer's Bear character in an unfortunate slip-up live on-air.
The singing competition sees a host of celebrities don extravagant costumes and perform, with only their singing voice undisguised. So far, the latest series has seen six people unmasked with the latest being presenter Mel Giedroyc who was behind the Teeth costume.
Other celebs unmasked so far in series six include Good Morning Britain's as Spag Bol; Bake Off's Prue Leith as Pegasus; Carol Decker as Tattoo; Macy Gray as Toad in the Hole and Mo Farah as Giant Joel.
There are still seven stars remaining - Wolf, Snail, Bush, Kingfisher, Bear, Dressed Crab and Pufferfish - and fans of the show have been chewing over every single clue to come up with fresh theories on who they could be. One of the most talked-about characters left on the show is Bear, and fans could just have been given their biggest clue yet.
During an ITV News interview, actor Richard Blackwood appeared to have let slip he is the famous face behind the costume. When asked directly about it by the presenter, he seemed to stumble over his words.
"Just quickly, before we finish, are you doing The Masked Singer? Because you’re getting loads of attention about it this week. Can you exclusively reveal it to us?” the presenter asked.
"I could… because you made me feel so good and stuff," he began, looking flustered. "No, I can’t, I can’t. But the moves and the way I… I mean, that’s how I would do it.”
Social media has been full of theories connecting Richard to Bear. "Bear is deffo Richard Blackwood his middle name is Clifford #TheMaskedSinger" said one show fan, while a different account wrote: "Bear - Richard Blackwood #TheMaskedSinger."
Aside from Richard, many viewers are convinced that singer-songwriter Example, real name Elliot John Gleave, is the singer behind Bear. Another leading theory is that it could be Anthony Head. The 70-year-old played Rupert Giles in the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997 until 2003.
The Masked Singer continues tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX
