Vivek Chaand Sehgal Early Life
Born on September 28 1956 in Delhi Vivek Chaand Sehgal grew up in a family of jewellers. He completed his schooling at Pilani’s Birla Public School and graduated from Delhi University. His initial foray into business began with silver trading where he once sold a kilogram of silver for just one rupee.
In 1975 alongside his late mother Shrimati Swaran Lata Sehgal Vivek founded Motherson a company initially dealing in silver trade. However the silver industry soon declined leaving the business on the brink of bankruptcy. Undeterred Sehgal decided to pivot into a new domain: car parts manufacturing.
