Prayagraj: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will make his first trip to Prayagraj since the Mahakumbh stampede on Friday. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be welcomed by CM Yogi during his visit, and the two will take part in Mahakumbh-related events.
The Chief Minister will thereafter go to Sector 5’s Bharat Seva Shram Camp and Sector 21’s Satua Baba Ashram. At the Mela Circuit House, he will also have meetings with members of the Heads of Mission from several nations.
Today, a 118-member team, including diplomats from 77 countries, heads of mission, and their spouses, is scheduled to visit the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
At least thirty people were killed in the stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela earlier this week during Mauni Amavasya.
Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj was visited by a three-member judicial panel that was established to look into the stampede that happened during the Mauni Amavasya bathing ceremony on Wednesday. Thirty persons were killed and sixty wounded in the tragedy. The panel will present its findings within a month and is entrusted with investigating the events and reasons for the catastrophe.
On Friday, a three-member judicial panel that was established to look into the fatal stampede that took place during the present Maha Kumbh on the festival of Mauni Amavasya paid a visit to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj.
Many of the wounded were brought to the hospital; in the horrific event that took place at the Sangam early on Wednesday morning, at least 30 people were confirmed deceased and 60 injured.
30 people were killed and 60 wounded in the event, which happened on Wednesday during the Mauni Amavasya bathing rite.
The panel has been entrusted with investigating the events and reasons that resulted in the stampede and will also provide suggestions to avoid such accidents in the future, per the notice issued in this respect.
After the commission is established, the investigative report has to be turned in within a month.
At the current Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, more than 5.42 million pilgrims dipped on Saturday in the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mysterious Saraswati.
Of them, 4.42 million pilgrims and more than 1 million Kalpavasis had swum in the Triveni waters today.
Since the event began, more than 314.6 million people have already swum in the holy confluence of three rivers as of January 31.
Beginning on January 13, Maha Kumbh will last till February 26. The three other important “snan” days in Maha Kumbh are February 26 (Maha Shivaratri), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 3 (Basant Panchami—Third Shahi Snan).
