During the first season of the International Masters League (IML), which runs from February 22 to March 16, Yuvraj Singh, one of cricket’s best southpaws, will play for India Masters.
One of the main architects of India’s win in the first-ever ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, Yuvraj is a name that conjures up images of greatness and moments that change the course of games. In that match, he memorably hammered Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over. Additionally, he was instrumental in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, winning Player of the Tournament for his exceptional all-around effort.
“Playing cricket with Sachin and my other teammates feels like reliving the glory days,” Yuvraj Singh stated in reference to his comeback to the game as a member of the India Masters squad. I have so many memories of playing with all of them. The IML, in my opinion, is a celebration of the time period that shaped Indian cricket, and I am eager to make more treasured memories for all of the supporters who have stood with us over the years.”
JP Duminy of South Africa and Upul Tharanga of Sri Lanka will represent their respective countries in the IML, joining him as cricketing greats.
JP Duminy’s elegant stroke play, poise under duress, and useful off-spin bowling were well-known. As South Africa’s T20 captain and a player with almost 9,000 international runs, Duminy was often the calming influence during crucial situations.
It is a great honor to represent South Africa Masters in the International Masters League’s first season. I’m excited to compete in a tournament with the best players in the game. According to JP Duminy, cricket fans can be confident that the game they will watch will be captivating and thrilling.
Upul Tharanga was a stylish and reliable opening batsman who helped Sri Lanka reach over 9,000 international runs. With skill, he embraced the new ball to build strong bases for his team, often acting as the anchor and accelerating when needed.
“I look forward to representing Sri Lanka Masters in the inaugural season of the International Masters League,” Tharanga said in response to his selection to the Sri Lanka Masters team. Old friends and enemies will square off in the IML, which promises to be an amazing cricket competition.
The IML is scheduled to start in Navi Mumbai, Rajkot, and Raipur on February 22, 2025. Fans can anticipate exciting action, memorable performances, and a celebration of cricket’s heyday.
