Union Budget 2025: No announcement on 8th Pay Commission
Former Finance Secretary of India Subhash Chandra Garg recently shared his views in an interview about whether the formation of the 8th Pay Commission will be announced in the budget or not. Garg said, "You cannot announce the formation of the Pay Commission in the budget. The Pay Commission will be formed, the minister has already announced it. However, there is no official information about its formation." Further, Garg said, "I think the next step will be that the government will formally notify (the new pay commission) after a month or two." He added, "They have to select a lot of people, take approvals, draft the terms of reference. All these things are not part of the budget."
