The target of 100% enrollment by 2030

The Economic Survey report states that the goal of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is to achieve a 100 percent gross enrollment ratio (GER) of students in schools by 2030. The report states that the GER is 93% at the primary level. This ratio is 77.4% at the secondary level and 56.2 percent at the higher secondary level. Continuous efforts are being made to eliminate this gap. The report says that the number of students leaving school education incomplete has declined in recent years. At the primary level, 1.9 percent of students left schooling incomplete. It is 5.2 percent at the upper primary level and 14.1 percent at the secondary level.
