Netflix has announced the release date for the third and final season of its globally popular show, Squid Game. The final season is set to premiere on June 27, 2025.

Season 3 will see the return of Lee Jung-jae (Gi-hun), Wi Ha-joon (Police Officer Jun-ho), and Lee Byung-hun (the enigmatic Front Man).

The show creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, says it will provide a shocking, satisfying conclusion to the series. He said: “This is the story that I have wanted to tell from the beginning, the final season explores the actual price of survival and the edge that people must push to either attain power or exact revenge while asking for forgiveness.

Squid Game, a South Korean drama that has redefined binge-watching and shattered numerous records, is a survival struggle through deadly games. Fans are eagerly awaiting the ultimate conclusion to a show that has kept the world on edge since its debut in 2021.

Unlike the two-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2, Netflix has shortened the wait for the final installment. Season 2, which premiered on December 26, 2024, left fans stunned with its cliffhanger and mid-credit scene, hinting at impending chaos.

By filming Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back, Netflix ensured that fans won’t have to endure another long wait.

Squid Game Season 1, which aired in September 2021, became Netflix’s most-watched show of all time, amassing 1.65 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days.

Season 2 also maintained the show’s popularity, becoming Netflix’s second most-watched non-English series, with 173 million views and 1.2 billion hours watched.
