This woman not only helped her husband by giving him Rs 10000 from her personal emergency fund but later in 2024 she took oath as the Rajya Sabha member after being nominated by President Droupadi Murmu. Philanthropist and author Sudha Murty is a well-known author has contributed to English and Kannada literature and had retired as the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation on December 31 2021. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2023 for her contributions in the field of social work. In 2006 she was conferred the Padma Shri. Speaking about her personal life Sudha Murty married Narayana Murthy one of Indias richest men and founder of the Infosys tech company. Sudha Murty and Narayana Murthy have two children: Rohan Murty and Akshata Murty. Sudha Murty played a pivotal role in the founding of Infosys by lending Rs 10000 to Narayana Murthy a small investment that helped build one of India’s most iconic companies. Coming from a middle-class background she broke barriers by earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at a time when it was rare for women to enter a male-dominated field. Speaking of her educational qualification Sudha completed her engineering from BVB College of Engineering obtained 1st rank across all branches and received a gold medal from the Institute of Engineers. She did her ME from the Indian Institute of Science with distinction and started her career as an engineer with TELCO (now Tata Motors). As per Forbes as of February 2 2025 N.R. Narayana Murthys real-time net worth stands at $5.1 billion. Despite their contrasting personalities and ambitions she remained unwavering in her support. She even left her prestigious job at Tata Motors to help him pursue his entrepreneurial dream. In 1981 they co-founded Infosys with Sudha investing ₹10000 a gesture that showcased her immense faith in her husbands vision. Sudha Murty a prolific author with over 150 books has broken gender stereotypes and societal norms. Despite having a net worth of Rs 775 crore she chooses to lead a simple and humble life.
