can build up over time, especially if you live in an area with particularly hard water.
These can become rather unsightly if left to build up over time; the minerals found in hard water can result in water marks appearing on shower doors.
While you may have tried to remove these dirty marks with sponges or commercial cleaners, these may not have worked - or could prove quite expensive if you have to repeatedly buy products.
Home and garden website The Spruce has shared an easy and affordable method for cleaning these stains from your shower doors.
They recommend creating a natural mixture of distilled and lemon juice that does all the hard work for you in as little as 30 minutes.
The Spruce explained: "Distilled white vinegar and lemon juice contain acids that will help break the bonds the minerals in hard water have formed with the glass surface."
Equipment neededStart by combining one part of distilled white vinegar and/or lemon juice with one part of distilled water, then place an old towel at the bottom of the glass panel to catch any drips when cleaning.
Then, starting with the top of the glass shower door, spray the mixture all over until every part of the glass panel is covered.
Leave for at least half an hour, and then, working in a circular motion, wipe away the mineral deposits. Make sure to regularly rinse the cloth so you can rub the hard water marks away quickly.
If using white vinegar, The Spruce recommends wearing rubber gloves and eye protection to prevent hand damage and vinegar from splashing into the eyes.
Once the stains have been loosened and removed from the glass shower door, rinse the area with fresh water.
Finally, use a squeegee tool to remove most of the water so as not to let any more deposits happen, and then buff with a clean microfibre cloth.
