Abhishek Sharma breaks records of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Sanju Samson in historic 5th T20I innings vs ENG

New Delhi: Indian opening sensation Abhishek Sharma made history with a stunning 135-run off 54 balls in the fifth and final T20I against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday February 2. Put in to bat by England India exploded from the start with Sanju Samson smashing a six off the first ball and collecting 16 runs in the opening over. Despite Samsons early dismissal Abhishek went into full attack mode delivering an innings that seemed almost unreal.
The left-hander smashed records as he hammered the second-fastest half-century by an Indian followed by the second-fastest century by any of his fellow countrymen during his explosive knock. He broke the joint record held by Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson for the most sixes by an Indian in a T20I innings. Abhisheks 13 sixes now stand as the most by any Indian surpassing Rohit and Samson by three.

Abhishek also broke Shubman Gills record for the highest score by an Indian in a T20I innings. He finished his remarkable innings with 135 runs surpassing Gills previous record of 126 which he had set against New Zealand in a T20I in 2023.
