Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who is now also a successfully published author with her novel, Zeba: An Accidental Superhero, revealed how she loves the idea of "badly-behaved women", and how the same also reflects in the protagonist of her book. Huma attended the Jaipur Literature Festival for the first time on Sunday, and while at it, she shared how she found penning her thoughts down liberating.Describing the protagonist of her book, Zeba, Huma stated that she was not the goodie-two-shoes woman or the girl-next-door. Instead, she described her as a 'badly-behaved woman'. Drawing parallels to her real self, Huma stated, "I love the idea of badly-behaved women. I am exhausted of women being told how to dress, walk, talk and behave, and how to be the 'Little Miss Perfect'. I am okay with being badly behaved, if that is what people think it is."Stating the purpose of writing the character of her book the way it has been written, the Gangs Of Wasseypur actress stated, "There's so much censorship even when we want to express ourselves. I feel if someone could just hear what really goes inside our little minds, they would be shocked! But they would also be entertained. I wanted to share exactly that through the book."Elaborating further on her protagonist, Huma said, "On the surface, she may seem like someone you don't know at all, but actually she is very similar to all of us."During the interaction, Huma also stated that true liberation is when a woman and her choices are accepted without a gender bias. "It's just about women being seen as 'people'. Their gender does not define their choices. That to me is the greatest liberation of all, where you are just allowed to be a person, and you're not seen from the lens of your gender or sex," she explained.During the event, Huma also revealed how she was nervous about her book getting published, and more so, about her mother reading it. "I actually got a mini panic attack just before the book launch. I called my publisher and told her that I must be the dumbest person on earth to decide to pen a novel!"But all ended well for Huma as she revealed that so far, she has not come across a single negative review or comment about her book.On the acting front, Huma will be next seen playing the antagonist in the third season of the highly-acclaimed show Delhi Crime, which also stars Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal and others.
