According to The Times of Israel, Hezbollah has said that its deceased former leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was murdered in an Israeli bombing in September of last year, would be buried on February 23.

On September 23, an Israeli attack in Beirut killed Nasrallah.
In a televised address, Hezbollah’s current leader Naim Qassem revealed the burial date, according to The Times of Israel.

Hezbollah has chosen to organize “on February 23 a grand… public funeral,” “after security conditions prevented holding a funeral” during two months of full-scale conflict that concluded with a ceasefire agreement agreed on November 27, he claimed. “We hope that it will be a grand funeral procession befitting this great personality,” Qassem said.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, declared Nasrallah dead in a video message in October of last year. “We have diminished the capability of Hezbollah. “We eliminated thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah and his successor, as well as the successor of the successor,” Netanyahu said.

Additionally, Qassem revealed that Hashem Safieddine, the man selected to succeed Nasarallah, was also murdered in October by Israeli bombings. Because “we had… elected His Eminence Sayyed Hashem as secretary-general… but he was martyred on October 3, a day or two before the announcement,” Qassem said, Safieddine would be buried “as secretary-general” or as the head of Hezbollah.

According to The Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Sunday (local time) that it had killed 50 Palestinian terrorists since beginning an attack in the northern West Bank about two weeks ago.

According to the IDF, 15 people were killed by drone strikes, while 35 gunmen were killed during operations in Jenin, Tulkarem, and the Tamun region. According to The Times of Israel, the IDF also acknowledged “mistakenly” aiming these operations at people, including a child.

The IDF claims to have arrested 100 Palestinian militants and seized more than 40 weapons. ‘Operation Iron Wall’ also neutralized over 80 bombs, the IDF stated.

According to the military, the attack, which began on January 21, will go for a few more weeks.

In the Jenin refugee camps, the IDF has destroyed 23 structures that it said were used by terrorists for their activities.
