Humans of Bombay CEO Karishma Mehta froze her eggs in January. The 32-year-old entrepreneur announced the personal milestone in a social media post detailing her activities for the month. Mehta, born in 1992, founded the popular storytelling platform in 2014. The entrepreneur revealed that she had frozen her eggs, a decision she had been contemplating for some time. “Been meaning to do this for a while and finally got around to it. I froze my eggs at the beginning of the month,” Mehta wrote.
Another proud moment for Mehta was raising ₹20 lakh for a rape victim, a cause she supported through her platform. "January, you’ve been special. And I hope it has been for you too. Tell me, what’s something special that’s happened to you this month?” she concluded her post, engaging her audience.
Mehta went on to announce that she would be selling her luxury leather items, with the proceeds going towards animal welfare NGOs. “As I have arrived at the decision to not only stop the purchase of leather of any kind, it guts to me use the leather that I may have already purchased. In the weeks to come, I will begin a sale of all my leather items—the proceeds of which will go towards animal welfare NGOs,” she added.
