'Juicer that's cheaper than Ninja and NutriBullet is the best thing I've bought'

This year I've joined hundreds of people wanting to boost their health, and I've found a kitchen gadget that helps me prioritise nutrition into my diet. A little over a month into the New Year, this nifty worktop appliance has been key to helping me creating energising juices to fuel my body, and more than 4,000 shoppers agree.

The can squeeze just about any veg or fruit you put through it - peel, skin and all - in just a matter of seconds. It's easy to clean, minimises on waste, and takes up minimal counter top space.

I've written about this nifty worktop appliance before, as I saved the pennies ditching the tasty Joe and The Juice order for an at-home alternative. As it drops to an - now £69 - it could tempt anyone on a health and fitness journey looking to detox or boost their daily greens intake.

It's not unusual for juicers to cost upwards of £100, it only takes a quick look at theor Cold Press Juicer (which is currently out of stock) to see the rival costs. Despite being a fraction of the price the Philips Viva Compact model has been a gamechanger for me.

I make a huge batch of green juice twice a week - one green apple, whole stalk of celery, cucumber, lemon and spinach - and keep it in the fridge for each morning. This does help with digestion but the noticeable effects have been on my face, as my skin has started to clear up.

Another is cleaning. Before I had this machine I used to make juices in a blender and then separate the juice from pulp using a muslin cloth, which as you can imagine is quite a messy (and time consuming) process. Thedoes have a built-in pulp tray - the blender is so powerful that I even keep the rind on lemon and skin on kiwis and it still processes it smoothly.

More than 500 people have bought it from Amazon this month alone and 4,000 have left reviews saying it's a 'fantastic product'. As one recent shopper said: "This is my second Philips juicer. Love the size, the easiness of making juice and the cleaning process afterwards is not bad at all."

While another shopper said it's better than a model they were using previously, as they said: "We already had a Kenwood citrus Juicer and a nutri bullet. The citrus juicer is good but with grapefruit, you ended up with seeds in the blend, and of course most fruits and vegetables with a fibrous texture don't pulverise properly in a nutri bullet - it's a macerator not a juicer."

Although one shopper highlighted a slight flaw to the juicer as they said: "The only significant downside is the lack of a froth separator." Having used the model a lot myself I do agree with this, as with some ingredients it produces a slight foam to the top of drinks and isn't a pure smooth juice like you'd find from a cold pressed made one. For me this happens (only slightly) when juicing carrots.
