Delhi Metro to operate from 4 AM on February 5 and 8, election and counting days

In preparation for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election on Wednesday, February 5, and the vote counting on Saturday, February 8, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special operational measures to ensure smooth travel for election staff and officials.


If reports are to go by, DMRC issued an official statement that says, metro train services across all lines will be made available from 4:00 AM from terminal stations on both days. This arrangement has been made to accommodate polling officials and other personnel involved in election duties, ensuring they reach their respective destinations on time. Also, as per reports, in order to facilitate early morning travel for election staff, metro services will run at a frequency of 30 minutes until 6:00 AM. After 6:00 AM, trains will operate as per their regular schedule for the rest of the day. For daily commuters, there won't be any changes in the train timings.

Additionally, DMRC has also made provisions for polling officials returning late after election duty. As per the official statement, the last metro services on all lines will be extended on the intervening night of February 5-6, ensuring convenience for those working long hours on election day. For information on specific last train timings for each metro line, a detailed schedule will be issued by DMRC. For more information, commuters are advised to check the DMRC website or official announcements for further details on the revised metro schedule.
