Indian Railways Introduces a Unified Super App
Indian Railways is preparing to roll out a brand-new super app, consolidating multiple railway-related services into one platform. This initiative aims to eliminate the need for multiple apps by integrating various functionalities in one place.
In the initial phase, users will be able to book reserved tickets, unreserved tickets, and platform tickets. Additionally, features such as train inquiries, PNR status tracking, and onboard meal ordering will be available.
The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), under the Ministry of Railways, is spearheading the development of this super app to streamline public railway services. This app is designed with a user-friendly interface, ensuring an enhanced user experience. Alongside ticket booking and train-related information, the platform will also incorporate services like RailMadad for grievances and freight-related inquiries.
Passengers can conveniently log in once and access all features without needing multiple accounts. The same credentials will be valid for existing railway apps like IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App.
Instead of using separate applications for reserved ticket booking, unreserved travel, train schedules, and status updates, users will now find all these features within a single, integrated app.
The app will merge data from various sources to provide comprehensive details. For example, checking a PNR status will also display associated train details, ensuring passengers have all necessary information in one place.
Users can sign up using their existing credentials from IRCTC RailConnect or the UTS Mobile App, simplifying the onboarding process and making it easier to start using the app.
To enhance accessibility, the app will support multiple login methods, including mPIN authentication and biometric verification. Once logged in, users can access services quickly without repeated sign-ins.
With its user-centric design, the SwaRail Super App is set to revolutionize the way passengers interact with Indian Railways, making travel planning smoother and more efficient.
