There are several actors and actresses who initially made a big mark but somehow couldnt sustain their momentum even after working with some of the biggest names in the industry. One such actress is actress Namrata Shirodkar who had a brilliant start but struggled to carve out a lasting career for herself in the film industry. Although she worked with massive stars and featured in major films her acting career didn’t take off like her debut film did. Namrata Shirodkar made her acting debut in 1998 with Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai starring alongside Salman Khan and Twinkle Khanna. Her character caught attention and she quickly became known for her grace and beauty. The actress was also seen in notable roles in films like Pukar Hera Pheri Albela and LOC: Kargil often sharing the screen with some of the biggest names of the time. Despite her talent in these films she wasn’t able to achieve sustained success in the industry. In 2005 after a five-year relationship with renowned actor Mahesh Babu who is three years younger than her she decided to step away from films and focus on her personal life. Namrata Shirodkar’s farewell from acting didn’t mean she disappeared from the industry altogether. In 2022 she produced the highly praised film Major directed by Shashi Kiran Tikka based on the life of Martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. However an old chat session from 2005 which resurfaced on Reddit stirred some controversy. In this chat Namrata Shirodkar controversially referred to Juhi Chawla and Sridevi as low society individuals which caused quite a stir. This comment was made in response to a fan’s question about carving her own niche in an industry dominated by established actresses. To this she said “Definitely I plan to carve a niche for myself and as far as Juhi and Sri are concerned they are completely L. S. If you want to know what that means it means Low Society.” Namrata Shirodkar was recently in the news after her sister Shilpa Shirodkar entered the well-known reality television show Bigg Boss 18. However she was evicted from the show four days before the finale.
