Period Delay Reasons: Period missed means pregnancy? Do you also think so? If your answer is yes, then believe me you are wrong. Doctors consider this to be only and only a common belief. It has no connection with the truth. However, this can happen in the cases of some married women. But, this doesn't need to happen to everyone. Women get worried about why the period that happens every month is getting delayed or missed this time. Is it that they are pregnant? But when they do a pregnancy test, the result is negative. In such a situation, it is not understood why there is a constant change or gap in the date of the period.

Now the question is why do periods get missed sometimes? Does missing a period mean pregnancy? What other reasons can cause periods to be delayed other than pregnancy? Dr. Anupam Rani, Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, Meerut, is telling News18 about this-

Main reasons for missed or delayed periods

Dr. Anupam Rani says that there can usually be two main reasons for missing periods. The first reason is when the period is starting for the first time and the second reason is when menopause transmission starts. However, apart from this, there are many reasons why the period is either delayed or irregular. In such a situation, leave the confusion and consult a doctor.

Not only pregnancy, these are also 5 major reasons for missing periods.

Stress: According to the doctor, apart from pregnancy, taking stress can also cause missed periods. Actually, due to chronic stress, hormonal changes occur many times, which affects the part of the brain that works to keep the period regular. In such a situation, your weight starts increasing or decreasing rapidly. Due to this, periods get delayed or missed.

Weight loss: Rapid loss of body weight can also be the reason for missed periods. According to experts, if a lot of fat starts getting reduced from the body suddenly, then there can be a change in your menstrual cycle. Not only this, sometimes it can also stop for months.

Obesity: If the weight is increasing very fast, then due to this hormonal changes occur and periods do not become regular. Due to weight gain, the production of estrogen becomes very high, which affects the reproductive hormones. In such a situation, periods can get delayed.

PCOS: In the case of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), the production of male hormone androgen in the body is high. Due to this cysts start forming in the body. Due to this, ovulation becomes irregular, and sometimes periods also stop.

Serious illness: Doctors say that if you are suffering from diseases like diabetes, or celiac disease, then hormonal changes start happening and such problems start. Due to this, imbalance in periods is a common thing.
