Shahid Kapoor returned to theatres with his latest action film Deva, earning praise for his intense performance. Despite high expectations and extensive promotions, the movie has struggled to attract audiences. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati, the film has seen a dip in box office numbers.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Deva collected Rs 2.35 crore on its fifth day, bringing its total earnings to Rs 24.25 crore within five days. The film has faced difficulties maintaining stability in theatres, leading to a noticeable decline in collections.

Before the release of Deva, Shahid Kapoor took to Instagram to share an emotional note with his fans. He wrote, “One year of blood, sweat, and tears. 2024 was all Deva! MERA DIL MERI JAAN. MERA KAAM MERI SHIDDAT. MERA ACTING KE LIYE PYAAR. MERI AUDIENCE KE LIYE MOHOBBAT. MERA SAALON KA EXPERIENCE MERA ANDAR KA CREATIVE BACHHA. SAB HAI IS *DEVA* MEIN….. Till today he was mine. From tomorrow he is yours.”
In an exclusive interview with News24 at Manthan 2024, Shahid spoke about his family’s influence on his career. He revealed that his wife, Mira Rajput, and brother, Ishaan Khatter, are his biggest critics, always offering honest feedback. He also mentioned his father, Pankaj Kapoor, calling him the ‘best actor’ and appreciating his dedication to the craft.
Acknowledging his dance skills, Shahid credited his mother, Neelima Azeem, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, for inspiring him.
On the work front, Shahid was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya alongside Kriti Sanon. He is also set to collaborate with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and actress Triptii Dimri for an upcoming project.
