"These people don't obey the law": Harsh Malhotra slams AAP

New Delhi [India], February 5 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi, Harsh Malhotra, slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday, accusing the party of 'not obeying' the law in the Delhi Assembly elections.Malhotra's remarks came in the wake of an incident in which two alleged staff members of Delhi Chief Minster Atishi with Rs 5 lakhs, he further said AAP is worried and wants to spoil the atmosphere. "These people (AAP) don't obey the law, yesterday, Rs 5 lakh was recovered from Atishi's aide. In Laxmi Nagar, the goons who were with AAP workers assaulted a woman BJP worker...Police have taken cognisance of these incidents and FIRs have been registered against them. Therefore, they are worried and want to create fights to spoil the atmosphere," Malhotra said.Meanwhile, on Tuesday, two staff members of the Delhi Chief Minister's office have been detained by Delhi police after Rs 5 lakh in cash was recovered from them.According to Delhi Police officials, they received a tip-off about the individuals carrying cash, and subsequently, a Flying Squad Team (FST) reached the spot and caught the duo. They were later handed over to the police.Ravi Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South East, told ANI, "We received a call about people being caught with Rs 5 lakh. Our team reached the spot, and the FST handed over two men, namely Gaurav and Ajit. Both are attached to the Delhi CM's office, as per preliminary information. On Wednesday, Delhi Police refuted any claims of voter bribery in the Sarai Kale Khan area under the Jangpura assembly constituency. the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had alleged in a post on X (formerly Twitter), that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is "openly distributing money" in the Jangpura assembly constituency. Meanwhile, voting has concluded in all eleven districts of the national capital. A voter turnout of 57.70 per cent was recorded till 5 pm on Wednesday in the single-phase Delhi assembly elections, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).Voting in the Delhi Assembly elections concluded on Wednesday at 6 pm in all 11 districts of the National Capital Territory.The results of this three-way battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress are set to be announced on February 8, when the vote counting will take place.
