Amit Shah expressed gratitude to Modi government for allocating Rs 17,155 crore to Railways in Gujarat in the Union Budget

New Delhi: In a ministry statement on Wednesday, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for including Rs 17,155 million for Gujarati railroads in the 2025 Union Budget.

Shah said in a post on X that the Gujarati railway network, as well as the nation as a whole, is going through a golden age of growth and development under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and that the Union Budget 2025–2026 would hasten this progress.

According to Amit Shah, just Rs 589 crore was set aside for Gujarat’s railroads between 2009 and 2014 under the previous administration. However, the Modi administration has announced that it will boost that sum by 29 times, reaching Rs 17,155 crore in 2025–2026.

The electrification of Gujarat’s railway lines has expanded 22-fold in the last ten years, reaching 97% of the state’s railway tracks currently, he noted.

At a cost of Rs 6,303 crore, he added, 87 stations in the state would be converted into Amrit Stations in the next days. Ahmedabad, Anand, Ankleshwar, Jamnagar, Junagadh Junction, Mehsana Junction, Navsari, Porbandar, Rajkot Junction, Vadodara, and Vapi are some of these important stations.At the Top of Form At a cost of Rs 5,572 crore, seven main stations—Gandhinagar Capital, Sabarmati, Somnath, Udhna, Surat, New Bhuj, and Ahmedabad—are also undergoing renovation.

He expressed his satisfaction that Rs 799 crore is being spent for Gandhinagar’s renovation as the Gandhinagar Member of Parliament. He noted in the statement that Gujarat’s commerce, industry, transportation, and jobs will all benefit from this overhaul of the state’s railway system.
