Radhikaraje Gaekwad: Radhikaraje Gaekwad is the queen of the Gaekwad dynasty of Baroda. She lives in the world's most expensive house. The value of her house is estimated to be Rs 25 thousand crores, which is much more expensive than Mukesh Ambani's Antilia. It is four times bigger than Buckingham Palace, the official residence of Britain's King Charles. Recently an article on her was published in MillionaireAsia magazine. She is the wife of Maharaja Samarjit Singh Gaekwad of Baroda, a royal descendant of the Gaekwad dynasty, who has been among the richest cricketers in India. Radhikaraje Gaekwad is an expert in Heritage Conservation.

She belongs to the royal family of Wankaner state. The palace in which Radhikaraje lives is named 'Lakshmi Vilas Palace', also known as Baroda Palace. Lakshmi Vilas is said to be the ancestral home of the Gaekwad royal family, the former rulers of Vadodara (formerly Baroda) in Gujarat. Radhikaraje's husband Samarjit Singh has been the captain of the Gujarat team in the Ranji Trophy. His family ruled Gujarat in the early 18th century.

There are 187 rooms in the palace.

Samarjit Singh took over the throne after the death of his father Maharaja Ranjit Singh Pratap Singh Gaekwad. He was officially declared Maharaja in 2012 at Laxmi Vilas Palace. Samarjit Singh received the property and palace of the Gaekwad family under an agreement in 2013. Since then he has been living here with his family. This palace has 187 rooms, Samarjit Singh had an agreement with his uncle Sangram Singh Gaekwad. After this, he got the right to 600 acres of immovable property including the palace, Moti Bagh Stadium and Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. He was also handed over Raja Ravi Varma's paintings and other royal items.

Samarjit Singh has now allowed a part of his palace to be used as a banquet facility for private functions. Samarjit currently also handles the responsibility of 17 temple trusts in Gujarat and Banaras. He got married in 2002. The couple has two daughters, the elder daughter Padmaraje is studying A Level in the UK. The second daughter's name is Narayanraje, and she is a student of 10th class. Samarjit Singh's mother Rajmata Shubhangi Raje also lives with him in this palace. This palace is four-storeyed, which is spread over about 700 acres. 170 rooms in this palace have been made only for the Maharaja and Maharani. There are magnificent gardens all around the palace. These gardens were designed by the famous botanist Sir William Goldring.

Entry fee 150 rupees

There are also stables, a swimming pool and a private golf course inside the palace. This palace was designed by British engineer Major Charles Mant. Mukesh Ambani's Antilia is considered one of the most luxurious houses in Asia, which pales in comparison to the grandeur of Lakshmi Vilas Palace. When the Maharaja is inside the palace, people come to know because a red light is lit during this time. This is a sign of his presence.
