Today we bring you the inspiring journey of an actress who left the fame and money of the film industry to fulfill her dream of becoming an IPS officer. She didn’t just attempt the UPSC Civil Services Exam once or twice—she appeared six times before finally achieving her goal.
Who is this Actress?
Her name is HS Keerthan a former child artist who worked in several films and television shows including Karpoorada Gombe Ganga-Yamuna Mudina Aliya Circle Inspector O Mallige Lady Commissioner Habba Dore and Simhadri. Despite gaining recognition in the entertainment industry her true aspiration was not to become a big movie star but to serve as an IAS officer. Determined to achieve this she stepped away from acting and started preparing for UPSC.
A Seven-Year Struggle to Become an IAS Officer
Her journey was far from easy. She first appeared for the Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) exam in 2011 and successfully became a KAS officer. However her ultimate dream was to clear the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). In 2013 she attempted the UPSC CSE for the first time but couldn’t secure a high enough rank.
Undeterred she continued her studies and attempted the exam six times over the next seven years. Finally in 2020 she cleared the UPSC CSE and secured All India Rank (AIR) 167 achieving her long-cherished dream of becoming an IAS officer.
Her story is a testament to perseverance dedication and the power of dreams. Despite being a recognized face in the entertainment world she chose a path of hard work and service proving that true success comes to those who refuse to give up.
