A police constable sustained severe injuries in a road accident on the Mani-Mysore Highway near Aranthodu on Wednesday.

The injured has been identified as Harish, a constable attached to Kankanady police station.

Harish hails from Mysuru. The accident occurred when he was traveling from Mysuru to Mangaluru on his bike. Harish suffered a serious head injury and was initially taken to a private hospital in Sullia before being shifted to Mangaluru for further treatment.

There are unverified claims on social media that a car collided with the bike, but this has not been confirmed by authorities.
