‘Food’ will not be available on searching Zomato, the company changed its name

Zomato: Food Tech Company Jomato has changed its name to "Eternal". The company's board has also approved this change. The company has given this information in a stock exchange filing on 6 February. Jomato's group CEO and co-founder Deepinder Goyal said that when we bought the Blinkit, they started using the name 'Eternal'. With this, the company and the brand/app can be distinguished.

Why was this name kept?

Goyal further said that when Jomato is made and big, he will change the company to the economy. Therefore, Jomato Limited has been renamed as Eternal Limited. Goyal also said that the name of the Jomato app will not be changed. However, the name of the stock tick will be changed from Jomato to the Eternal. There will be four main businesses in the eternal so far. The first will be Jomato, the second blinkit, the third district and the fourth hyper pure.

Eternal is a powerful name

Goyal further said that the Eternal is a powerful name. This is a big challenging name. The name 'Etel' has both faith and a contradiction. This is not just a name change. This is a mission statement. On January 20, the company said in a letter sent to its shareholders that they are facing a widespread recession. It started from the second week of November.

Increase in company's profits

In Q3Fy25, Jomato's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) has fallen by 57 percent to Rs 59 crore. Whereas in the same period last year, it was Rs 138 crore. However, the company's income increased by 64 percent to Rs 5404 crore. It was more than Rs 3288 crore last year and more than Rs 4799 crore of the previous quarters. The board has approved the change of name. Now the approval of the company's shareholders is awaited.
