Although he became a household name, Gotti's reputation was marred by Ja Rule's long-running feud with 50 Cent and in 2003 by a raid on the headquarters of his label by suspected money laundering federal agents. Gotti and his brother were indicted on money laundering charges two years later, but were acquitted on all the charges.st of the scandals, Gotti changed the name of Murder Inc. to The Inc. Vanessa Carlton joined the label in the late 2000s, and it went on to release albums by Ashanti and R&B singer Lloyd.
