“If you have any grievances, take them out on me,” Ma said in her first interview with Taiwanese media since Hsu died at age 49. “Please don’t target my husband, the children, or the deceased.”
Ma, 26, disclosed that she and Wang, 44, have endured relentless online abuse, driving them to the verge of emotional collapse, as reported by Dimsum Daily. She also noted that Wang’s emotional state remains fragile. Underscoring the urgency to end online harassment, she pleaded: “Please stop the cyberbullying against everyone except me. I beg you—I’m on my knees, pleading for this to end.”
She stated that she felt compelled to speak out, recognizing that her words could be misinterpreted. Nonetheless, she underscored the need to honor Hsu’s memory.
“Regardless of past issues, we must honor the deceased. Please, stop the online attacks,” she said. “If the public believes I’m at fault, I’m willing to step aside. But please, leave my husband and the children out of this.”
Ma clarified that her relationship with Hsu was amicable, with no animosity between them. They even kept in touch occasionally for the sake of the children Hsu shares with Wang.
“I did nothing wrong. I did not interfere in their marriage,” she said. “Wang Xiaofei and I have not interfered in anyone else’s relationship from the time we started dating until we got married.”
She described the immense strain her family was experiencing.
“We are exhausted,” she added. “Our home is surrounded by the media, and my husband is deeply grieving. The children have lost their mother, and our priority now is to care for them.”
Hsu and Wang got engaged in 2010, just 49 days after their first date, and married in 2011. Despite Hsu often speaking warmly of Wang, the couple announced their separation in 2021, citing irreconcilable differences.
Citing Mirror Media, The Straits Times reported that Hsu filed for divorce at a Taipei court in Nov. 2021. Speculation about their breakup had been circulating since June 2021, though Hsu’s mother denied any divorce at the time.
After the divorce, Hsu married South Korean musician DJ Koo, 56, in Feb. 2022, while Wang registered his marriage with Ma in May 2024.
Despite their new relationships, Hsu and Wang remained embroiled in public disputes, with Hsu accusing Wang of infidelity and physical abuse, while Wang countered with allegations that Hsu used his credit card to purchase luxury gifts for DJ Koo.
After Hsu’s death was confirmed by her family on Monday, Wang cut short his vacation in Thailand and rushed to Taiwan with Ma. He also left comments under social media videos about Hsu, referring to her as “wife.”
Hsu rose to fame through hit TV series such as “Meteor Garden,” “Mars,” and “Summer’s Desire.”
