Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Thanks to Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025, the 47-year-old Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) is getting a massive makeover. The state government has decided to hold prestigious event on IGRMS campus located on Shamla Hills.

The summit to be held on February 25-26 will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Construction work is underway on around 20-acre land around Aavritti Bhavan of the IGRMS, which has been earmarked for the event. Trucks, bulldozers and a large number of labourers are working at the site.

The land has been levelled and cleared of shrubs and grass. The frame of a dome has already come up and so have several small tents. Once the construction works are completed, the venue will have separate domes that will house Summit Hall, Media Lounge and Partner Country Pavilion. Places have been earmarked for PM Convoy, Main Hall, MP Experience Zone, PM Lounge, Entry Gate and VIP Lunch Area.

Director of IGRMS Amitabh Pandey said a part of campus had been handed over to state government for GIS. “For us, this is a welcome development. It will give us a lot of positive publicity,” he said. The museum will get a better infrastructure in the form of wider roads. “It will be a more beautiful place with trees and shrubs pruned and paintings on the walls,” he added.

Media not allowed

The entry to museum has been restricted with even media persons including photo journalists not allowed in. Media persons are being turned back by the guards from the main entry gate of the museum. Visitors are being allowed after purchasing tickets. However, guards are asking them to keep away from GIS construction site.
