Fatal Family Feud: Man Kills Wife with Cooker Lid After Daughter Marries Against His Will
Nashik: A man brutally hit his wife with an axe and a cooker lid after an argument between the couple turned violent. The woman was seriously injured due to severe head injuries. Reportedly, the couple engaged in frequent arguments after one of their daughters married against the wishes of the family. The incident took place in the Pramod Nagar area of Nashik, Maharashtra.
According to the police, Savita Shatrugun Gore, aged 45, lived with her husband and son as tenants. The couple had three daughters and a son. All three daughters were married, and one of the daughters had married against the wishes of the family, which led to a rift between them.
After the husband brutally hit his wife, their daughter, Mukta Laik, came home and found her mother injured and the child lying on the bed soaked in blood.
When the Gangapur police station was informed, Senior Police Inspector Sushil Jumde and Police Inspector Jagved Singh Rajput admitted her to the district hospital, where the doctor declared her dead. Based on the complaint of daughter Mukta Leekha, a case has been registered against the accused husband in Gangapur police station and the absconding husband is being searched.
In a separate incident, a man in Kerala has been arrested in connection with the alleged suicide of his 25-year-old wife, Vishnuja, who her father claimed was pushed to end her life after extreme mental and physical torture by her husband. Police have registered a case under charges of abetment to suicide and cruelty against women.
Prabhin and Vishnuja’s marriage was arranged in May 2023. Prabhin, a male nurse, allegedly humiliated Vishnuja regularly by saying that she was not “attractive enough” and that she wasn’t even capable of getting a job, the woman’s family said, adding that the husband regularly beat her up.
Prabhin, Vishnuja's father Vasudevan alleged, used to tell her, “She looked too thin," and he would not take her with him on his bike, claiming she was “not good-looking."
