Popular television actress Urvashi Dholakia, best known for playing the role of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, opened up about her divorce with her first husband and how she raised her kids -- Kshitij and Sagar -- as a single mother. During an interview with Hautterfly, Urvashi, who tied the knot at the age of 16 and filed for divorce two years later, revealed that her twin sons never showed an interest in knowing about their father. "We’ve had conversations, but they’ve also said, 'We don’t want to know.' They were very clear. It was their choice. I tried a lot to tell them, but they clearly didn’t want to know. Then even I forgot," she shared. Speaking about her ex-husband, Urvashi disclosed that he was never in touch with their kids. "There has been no touch ever since they were a year and a half old. By the time I turned 18, I was a mother as well as a father," she stated. Urvashi also opened up about how she dealt with her divorce and the emotional toll it took on her. "There was a time when I had locked myself in a room for a month just to introspect about what happened. I literally shut down myself and didn’t talk to anybody. Just to figure out how to go ahead with this," she stated. The 45-year-old actress strongly denied the belief that separation becomes easier over time. She said during the conversation, "No, separation is a separation. It hurts. I couldn’t let it get to me. I was very young. If my parents weren’t there, then I don’t know what I would do. If I am sitting here with you today, at this time and in this era, then I have to give credit to my parents. It means, if they hadn’t supported me... there are so many girls who don’t get support." On the work front, Urvashi has starred in several shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kabhii Sautan Kabhi Saheli, Mehendi Tere Naam Ki, and Kahin Toh Hoga, among others. Recently, the actress was seen in the superhero web series Power of Paanch in which she played the role of DGP Aasma Mazhar.
