Ashutosh Gowarikers attempt at making a romantic comedy Whats your Raashee? wasnt really appreciated by the masses and critics. Bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala the 2009-released was based on the Gujarati novel Kimball Ravenswood by the playwright. It starred Priyanka Chopra Harman Baweja with Darshan Jariwala and Dilip Joshi in supporting roles. Priyanka Chopras 12 different avatars in Whats Your Raashee? couldnt multiply the films success. The actress called it one of the most challenging role of her career. She was heartbroken by its no-show at the box office I would be lying if I say that Whats Your Raashee?s failure didnt impact me. It did. It broke my heart because there was a lot that went into the making of the film Priyanka said in an interview. The actress further added But then when a film doesnt work it does cause you a lot of pain. Thankfully everyone who did see the movie came out appreciating my performance. I would have been shattered if some out there would have said that they hated my performance. It would have certainly set me into an introspection mode. Chopras performance received her a nomination for the Screen Award for Best Actress. She also became the first actress in history to portray twelve roles in one film. With a box office gross of Rs 17 crore the film was unsuccessful and received mix reviews for its over three-and-a-half run time too many songs and half-baked plot. Harman Baweja who played the lead role of Yogesh B. Patel in Whats Your Raashee? quit films after it turned out to be a disaster at the box office. The actor shifted its focus towards production and writing.
