Over 400 Million Devotees Congregate at Triveni Sangam for a Sacred Dip in Mahakumbh 2025

During the present Mahakumbh festival, more than 400 million pilgrims have already taken a sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam in an incredible show of faith and devotion. Large crowds of people continue to travel to the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the elusive Saraswati rivers, despite the presence of three important ceremonial baths.

The number of spectators taking part in the holy rite as of the morning of February 7 exceeded 42.07 lakh, and with 19 days remaining in the major event, it is anticipated that the entire number may top 500 million. The event’s prominence will be further raised on February 10 when President Droupadi Murmu is expected to visit Prayagraj and take the holy plunge.

With devotees, Kalpvasis, saints, and householders uniting in a common display of faith, the mood at the Triveni Sangam is still electrifying. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, together with his cabinet colleagues, have all attended as high-profile guests.

Leaders from a variety of political backgrounds also made an impression, including Akhilesh Yadav, Mata Prasad Pandey, Ravi Kishan, and Sudhanshu Trivedi.

Celebrities from a variety of industries have also taken notice of the event, including cricketer Suresh Raina and Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, as well as Bollywood actresses Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, and Bhagyashree. Actress-turned-Mahamandaleshwar Mamta Kulkarni and renowned poet Kumar Vishwas were also seen participating in the holy bath.
