In the ever-evolving field of ERP technology few professionals stand out as much as Krishna Kodamasimham Hanumanth. With over two decades of experience spanning multiple industries and roles Krishna has made significant contributions to the world of Oracle Applications and cloud technologies. In this interview A shares insights into his extensive career his approach to problem-solving and his vision for the future of ERP consultancy.
Q: Can you tell us about your professional background and experience?
A: With over 21+ years of extensive experience in the ERP domain I specialize in Oracle Fusion Cloud (PaaS & SaaS) into ERP systems. My career has spanned multiple versions of Oracle Applications in EBS from 10.7 11i and R12 to Oracle Fusion cloud equipping me with a deep understanding of evolving technologies and industry best practices. Also having strong experience in other ERP Systems - SAP PeopleSoft JD Edwards Net Suite.
I have successfully undertaken diverse roles in numerous projects including Implementation Customization Post-Implementation Support Maintenance and Upgrades. My expertise spans the entire project lifecycle from analysis and design to development testing deployment and support. I have strong
Currently my focus is on Oracle Adaptive Intelligence Applications that use Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to deliver recommendations and insights across key business areas. For example: In procurement we optimize supplier selection by analyzing cost quality and delivery time supplier recommendation and demand forecasting. In financials identifying savings opportunities and predicting cash flow risks and In HR they support talent acquisition and retention by analyzing workforce trends.
Q: What are some of the key areas you specialize in within the ERP landscape?
A: My specialization includes a wide array of Oracle ERP components and modules. Ive worked extensively on Financials - Account Payables Receivables Cash Management General Ledger etc. SCM - Process Manufacturing Inventory Order Management Bill of Materials etc. and HCM (Global HR Payroll Absence Management Talent Management and compensation Benefits). Having a very strong experience in Procure to Pay Order to Cash and Record to Report Additionally I have significant experience with Oracle Cloud particularly in areas like HCM ERP Cloud and cloud integration (OCI) and extensive experience in Reports Interfaces Conversions Extensions Workflows Oracle Application Framework (OAF) Application Development Framework (ADF) have strong skills in SQL PL/SQL UNIX scripting and various reporting tools like BI Publisher and OBIEE OBIA. Also extensively worked on Data Warehousing Informatica ETL tools and involved in developing the customized tools based on the client requirements.
Q: Can you share some details about the notable projects youve worked on?
A: Ive had the privilege of working on several high-impact projects across different industries. For instance with the Chicago Park District I was involved in migrating data from Oracle applications and legacy systems to Oracle Fusion. At Cisco Systems I built new integrations between legacy systems and the Meraki System and at Intuit I led the design and development of integrations for Procure to Pay (P2P) and Order to Cash (O2C) processes at Facebook inc led the design and played the major in upgrading from Oracle EBS to fusion. My role at Uber involved developing new integrations and reports for financial modules and enhancing the user experience with custom interfaces. I also voluntarily assist universities and research scholars in advancing the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the fields of Bioinformatics Biotechnology and Healthcare. My efforts include fostering AI-driven innovations in genome analysis drug discovery disease diagnostics bioprocess optimization and personalized medicine while mentoring scholars and supporting institutions in implementing cutting-edge AI technologies to solve real-world challenges.
Q: What do you consider your most significant professional achievement to date?
A: One of my most significant achievements was leading the successful migration of complex Financials and HRMS data to Oracle Fusion for Facebook Inc. and Chicago State Clients (Transit authority/Park Districts). This project involved intricate data extraction transformation and loading processes and it required a deep understanding of both the source and target systems. The successful completion of this project not only streamlined operations but also provided the client with enhanced data integrity and reporting capabilities.
Q: How do you approach problem-solving and innovation in your projects?
A: My approach to problem-solving is rooted in a thorough understanding of the business requirements and technical landscape. I believe in leveraging my extensive experience to identify gaps and propose innovative solutions that are both effective and efficient. Collaboration is key; working closely with stakeholders ensures that the solutions align with business goals. Additionally staying updated with the latest advancements in technology and continuously learning new skills helps me bring innovative ideas to the table.
Q: What motivates you in your professional journey?
A: My motivation comes from the challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact through technology. Each project presents a unique set of challenges and finding solutions that drive business success is incredibly fulfilling. Additionally mentoring and leading teams to achieve their best potential is something I am passionate about. Seeing a project through from conception to completion and knowing that it has made a difference motivates me to keep pushing boundaries.
Q: How do you stay current with the evolving ERP technologies and trends?
A: Staying current in this fast-evolving field requires a proactive approach to learning. I regularly participate in professional training sessions webinars and conferences. Reading industry publications and engaging with professional communities on platforms like LinkedIn also helps. Moreover practical experience on diverse projects allows me to stay at the forefront of new technologies and best practices.
Q: Can you share some insights on your leadership and team management style?
A: My leadership style is collaborative and inclusive. I believe in creating an environment where team members feel valued and empowered to contribute their best ideas. Clear communication setting realistic goals and providing continuous feedback are crucial elements of my management approach. I also focus on fostering a culture of innovation and creativity encouraging team members to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring ERP consultants?
A: My advice would be to build a strong foundation in both technical and functional aspects of ERP systems. Understanding the business processes and how they translate into technical requirements is crucial. Continuous learning and adaptability are key as technology and business needs are always evolving. Finally developing strong communication and collaboration skills will help in effectively managing projects and working with diverse teams.
Q: What are your future goals in your career?
A: Looking ahead I aim to further deepen my expertise in cloud technologies and expand my role in strategic decision-making for ERP implementations. I am also interested in exploring opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects that leverage AI and machine learning to enhance ERP functionalities. Additionally I aspire to take on more leadership roles where I can mentor the next generation of ERP consultants and contribute to the growth and success of organizations.
